About IdeaXApp

IdeaXApp turns a sentence into a working app prototype you can try on a phone, share with a link, and remix. It exists because the hardest part of any idea is showing it to someone.

Who made this

IdeaXApp is built and run by Humayun Shabbir, an independent developer who also made IdeaToGame. It is a small, self-funded project with no investors and no sales team — just a tool we wanted to exist. You can reach us on the contact page.

How it works (honestly)

  • You describe the idea. One sentence is enough; more detail gives better results.
  • Google Gemini writes the prototype — a single HTML file with layout, styling, interactions and realistic sample content. The request goes straight from your browser to Google using your own API key. Our servers are not involved and never see your key.
  • You try it in a sandbox. The preview runs in an isolated frame with no internet access and no storage, so nothing generated can read your data or call out anywhere.
  • You change it in plain words (“make the text bigger”, “add a settings screen”) until it feels right.
  • If you publish it, the title, description, your idea text, your chosen name and the HTML are stored on our server and shown on a public page where people can react, comment and remix.

Every published page says it was generated with AI, names the model, and shows the idea it came from — because “how was this made?” is a fair question, and because seeing the prompt is how people learn to write better ones.

Why every prompt is public

Almost all AI prompts are private, and the ones people share online rarely show what came out. That makes learning slow: you never see which words produced which result. Here the prompt sits next to its real, working output on every page — a public library of prompts with outputs, remixable by anyone. Think of it as a GitHub for prompts, or what-you-see-is-what-you-get for the AI era: text in, working app out, both visible. Browse it at /prompts.

AI tools are moving faster than most people can follow. Showing what is possible — and handing you the exact prompt to try — is the quickest way we know to close that gap. See where the tools are heading.

Why we built it

Ideas die in notes apps. Describing an app is slow, mock-ups take a designer, and code takes a developer — so most ideas never get shown to anyone. A clickable concept in thirty seconds changes the conversation: people react to something real, and the idea gets better or gets dropped. Either way, quickly.

We also think remixing matters more than generating. The prompt behind every prototype is public, and every prototype has a Remix button, so the gallery is a shared pile of starting points rather than a pile of finished things.

Accessibility

The site uses large, high-contrast text, big touch targets and full keyboard support, with a text-size control and a light/dark switch in the header. The generator is also told to keep prototypes readable for children and older adults. If something is hard to use, please tell us.

Frequently asked questions

Is it really free?

Yes. The site is free and has no accounts. Generation runs in your browser with your own Google Gemini API key, which Google offers with a free tier. You pay nothing to us; if you generate a lot, Google may ask you to add billing to your own Google account.

Where is my API key stored?

Only in your browser (localStorage on this device). It is sent directly from your browser to Google when you generate. It never reaches our servers, is never included in anything you publish, and you can remove it any time from the key button in the header.

Do I need an account?

No. Publishing gives this browser a private edit token for each prototype so you can unlist or delete it from the Mine page. If you clear your browser data you lose that ability — download the HTML if it matters to you.

Which Gemini models can I use?

The current Flash family (Gemini 3.8 Flash down to 3.5 Flash) plus the faster Flash-Lite models and the older 2.5 generation. Flash gives the best results; Flash-Lite is quickest and has the highest free daily limit. You can also choose how hard the model thinks (Fast, Balanced, Best).

What exactly gets generated?

One self-contained HTML file: layout, styling and interactivity, with realistic sample content so it feels like the real app. It runs in a sandbox with no internet access and no storage, which is why it resets when reloaded. It is a concept demo for trying and sharing ideas, not a finished product.

Can I use the code?

Yes. Download it, copy it, build on it. Everything published on the site is released under CC0 (public domain), so anyone can use and remix it, including commercially. Anything you generate but do not publish stays private to you.

How do I get better results?

Say who the app is for and what the main screen does: “a chores app for two kids with stars and rewards, big buttons” beats “chores app”. Pick the device first. Then use Change something for one tweak at a time — smaller changes come out cleaner than a long list.

Why do some pages say “concept demo”?

Because prototypes are not real services. They never ask for real passwords or payments, and you should not enter personal data into one. If a prototype pretends to be a real company or asks for credentials, please report it.

How do I delete something I published?

Open Mine on the device you published from and use Delete, or make it unlisted so only people with the link can see it. If you no longer have that device, contact us with the link.

What is not allowed?

Illegal content, hate or harassment, sexual content, content targeting private individuals, phishing-style pages that imitate real services, malware-like behaviour, and spam. Reported prototypes are reviewed and removed when they break these rules.

Content rules and moderation

Prototypes are reviewed when reported and removed when they break the rules above. Search engines are only pointed at prototypes with a substantial, unique description; thin or duplicate pages stay public but are not submitted for indexing. Pages nobody has visited in three months drop out of the index automatically.
